My days are pretty simple, a bit long some days but simple nonetheless. Ten hours a day I take care of two kiddos: Jake and Harper. It’s not always easy but we have a routine consisting of a class or two a day for Jake, visits to the library, walks, spending time at the park and my favorite nap time!
Kevin on the other hand has a different schedule each week - some weeks harder than others and some more enjoyable than others. This last week and this coming week Kevin is working in the emergency room; 5pm until 7am. Each day he sees different cases and never knows what animal is going to come through the front door. Last week a “good Samaritan” brought in a baby squirrel. The “good Samaritan’s” dog had killed the mother squirrel and they were not sure if the baby squirrel would make it. Kevin spent 10 hours feeding the baby squirrel with a syringe. After Kevin's care the squirrel was doing great!
What a cute little guy! What happens to him now? A new pet for you guys or back to the wild?
ReplyDeleteKevin is very brave to touch a squirrel, even a baby squirrel
ReplyDeleteKevin has very interesting job.
You have an interesting job too Angela. You are shaping little minds all day long. And I am proud of Kevin and you. Oh-I'm proud of Murphy too. She entertains herself while her mom and dad are at work all day. :)
That is awesome. I remember my ER days and they are or can be an adrenalin rush. Like you said Ang, part of it is not knowing what the hell will come in next. To this day I still remember the thrill of it.
ReplyDeleteThe squirrel ended up going to a wildlife sanctuary - thank goodness it was not brought to the the Kroner household!
