Murphy has been number one, our first baby, since we got her in October 2010. She sleeps on our bed, couch and sits in our laps when we are sitting. She gets a rawhide a day and more treats than needed for one dog. She’s gone to daycare, has had dog walkers and very rarely is home for more than four hours at a time.... SPOILED. In a few weeks things are about to change for this little yellow lab!
I am extremely lucky to get to stay home with our little one so she won’t be alone very much and will probably get more walks than she does now. She will however not get to sit in our laps as much which may disappoint her. I know Murphy will be great with baby Kroner and will love being baby’s sidekick, especially when baby is old enough to eat in her/his high-chair and feed Murphy food, which now isn't allowed other than the occasional Goldfish; Kevin and Murphy's favorite treat. Until baby comes Murphy has a few more weeks as number one.
Murphy loves laundry fresh out of the drier!
Protecting baby K
Weekend naps
Daily runs outside
When we first had Ryter my kitty stepped aside all on her own. She willingly spent most of her time outside and patiently waited when I forgot to feed her for hours. She never seemed resentful, she just seemed to know her life would be different for a while.
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious! Love the cartoon and all the pics of Murphy!!!
ReplyDeleteToo sweet! Murphy will be a good big sis. Love the pics, especially the one nested in the warm clean clothes. The cartoon is so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteLove those shots. Labs are the best with babies and toddlers. I'm sure Murph will be great. The only situations that still get my attention when Gert is around a baby is when someone else is getting her excited and rambunctious for fear that she could accidentally knock them down. I also practiced giving her treats with them gripped inside my fist so she learns not to go after them teeth first. I made her nose at the fist and gradually opened as long as she was gentle about it. I think it helped. I usually do it a couple times whenever I know the "Bug" is coming over.
