Second Place for John

I entered John into our zoo's "Kids Green Art Contest." He needed to use recycled materials to create an animal camouflaged in his environment.  John asked to create a parrot with paint. He used old cardboard, tissue paper, an old button and paint to create his parrot camouflaged in the rain forest. Today, at the zoo, they had all the entries on display for the public to view as well as to be judged.
Kevin's parents joined us for the big event. We toured the zoo as well as viewed the art projects and watched the judging. John received a puzzle for participating and second place in his age division, four and under!! The smile he got on his face will be with me for some time. He was so proud of himself (other than cutting and helping with the glue John did the entire project solo) as were we!
We had such a wonderful day today!
