Sometimes It's All About FUN

While snuggling on the couch this morning, with no set plans ahead of us, John asked if we could go to the mall. It turned out to be a great idea! We passed Build a Bear and as we did John's eyes lit up. We have passed this store many times with no excitement but today John was in awe. I decided, right then, today was going to be all about fun so we walked right in; plus he has done an amazing job potty training! I'm so glad we did; other than a few loud noises inside the store that startled John such as the place to stuff your bear as well as the place to fluff your bear he throughly enjoyed himself. 

First we picked out a bear. John went back and fourth on a few but ultimately picked a Batman bear. Then he picked a sound. He found out he could record his voice and sweetly looked at me and said, "Can you do it?" My heart melted! (Though since brining the bear home I have now heard my voice on recording more than I can to telling John; why is it that recorded voices sound so off?!) Afterwards we placed a heart in the bear and helped stuff him. We moved on over to fluffing the bear, dressing the bear which took many outfit changes before deciding on a matching Batman outfit for his Batman "tattoo" bear.  Lastly we gave John's bear a birth certificate and named him. In the last few weeks John has named every stuffed animal, doll and even his baby sister Bitta so I was not surprised and quite glad he named this teddy bear Bitta as well. 

We played for a bit in the indoor playscape where John played the entire time holding tightly to Bitta. Our fun day ended with candy from the candy machines after John successfully went potty in a public restroom! I believe this was his first time and we were both very proud!
